Regram Sideloading Notifications

This post is only for users using Sideloaded Regram IPA on non-jailbroken devices

The issue

Notifications can only be received on Sideloaded Instagram if it is properly signed with a distribution/ad-hoc certificate that includes Push Notifications entitlements.

These are Apple’s signing rules, and unfortunately, Regram cannot bypass them because every certificate is linked to specific devices. However, there are multiple solutions available:

Solutions

  1. [Easy] Use the Official Instagram App
    • The easiest solution is to install the official Instagram app from the App Store, and then install Regram as a duplicate app.
    • This way, you’ll receive notifications from the official app while using the duplicate app for Regram features.
    • The downside of this method is that tapping on a notification will open the original Instagram app instead of Regram
  2. [Easy] Purchase a Certificate
    • The easiest and cheapest way to get a certificate is by purchasing a shared one from a provider.
    • Some providers allow you to sign and install apps directly through their signing apps, while others provide a certificate you can use with tools like Gbox or ESign to sign apps yourself and install them on your device.
    • Flekstore is one of the most reliable option for a signing certificate.
  3. [Advanced] Get an Apple Developer Account
    • You can manually upgrade your Apple ID to a developer account via the Apple Developer Portal.
    • Apple charges $100/year for a developer account.
    • Once you have an account:
      • Add your devices.
      • Create a certificate and provisioning profiles from the developer portal.
      • Use these to sign and install your apps using signing tools (Gbox, ESign, etc)

Regardless of the method you choose, you must use the original IPA version of Regram that uses the official Instagram’s bundle identifier to receive notifications.
